LA Office
Alison Falzetta - Senior Scout
Alison has been with CTL since 2025, leading the LA team and running point on a number of buyer, studio, and prodco clients. Her background is mainly in TV development, with a focus on IP – as a producer, she was on the other side of scouting calls, so she knows the client POV well. Her taste was formed by an early love of genre fiction, including fantasy, romance, and YA, as well as the eclectic set of indie and foreign films she was (lovingly) forced to watch by her film critic mother.
While it’s impossible to pick just one favourite adaptation, Alfonso Cuaron’s 1995 A LITTLE PRINCESS looms large for her. As does really any Damon Lindelof take on a book – THE LEFTOVERS and WATCHMEN, both all time faves.
Jordan Dornbaum - Scout
Jordan has been at the company since 2024, where she focuses primarily on romance, fantasy, thrillers, and both young and new adult fiction. As an avid reader, she boasts a deep encyclopedic knowledge on backlist favorites and new, buzzy material. She also heads up our report on all things nonfiction in the books, podcasts, and articles space – if there's a story out there to discover, she's our resident Nancy Drew.
Some of her favourite adaptations include messy and dynamic characters at the center, including INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE, DEPT Q, and RIVALS.
Isaac Wright - Coordinator
Isaac joined CTL Scouting’s LA Office in 2024 after working as a reader for Amazon Studios and The Blacklist. He curates CTL’s Comics and Graphic Novels report and specializes in all things genre — including westerns, sci-fi, and horror. (He doesn't like scary movies, but he loves scary books!) He also keeps a finger on the pulse of upcoming nonfiction titles and ripped-from-the-headlines stories for adaptation.
His favourite adaptations include the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy (three perfect films) and FANTASTIC MR. FOX. He was born and raised in Santa Barbara, home of the Paul Giamatti film SIDEWAYS and the TV show PSYCH.
Olivia Lopez - Assistant Scout
A proud West-East Coaster, Olivia joined CTL in 2025 with a background in both acquisitions and development. She’s also a former mentee of We Need Diverse Books and The Word’s mentorship programs and studied Film and English at Wesleyan University. Besides contributing to CTL’s graphic novel report, she has become the LA team’s go-to reader for literary fiction and can’t resist sweeping, romantic, and profoundly human stories that stick with you long after the last page. So if you’re curious about the new Chloe Benjamin or just how life changing the MY BRILLIANT FRIEND series is, she’s ready to discuss!
It’s hard for her to pick a favourite adaptation, but she’s seen THE HUNGER GAMES and LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE perhaps one too many times.
